My name is Brett Rayner and I live in Banff, Alberta! Whether it's scrambling, skiing, trail running, or rock climbing, I love getting out in the mountains.
I moved to the mountains in 2014 and have not looked back since (except to take mental pictures of the route down). I currently work @ Banff Centre in the Theatre. I am so lucky that I get to spend my 'days off' exploring my backyard! Sometimes it is hard to choose an activity, and often I find myself biking to trailheads, and running to the top of a peak (with a little rock climbing and a short dip in a glacial lake for added fun).
My goal with this blog is to share my adventures with family, friends, and others interested in getting outside! I also hope that some of the information, pictures, and mishaps can help others prepare for their adventures. I spend a lot of time online scouring websites for route info, pro tips, photos, and anything else that may be useful once I get into the backcountry. You can never be too prepared, and you never know what Mother Nature will have in store.
Thanks for visiting, and I hope to see you one day in the hills.
